Dave + Kristen Engagement
Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at 1:37PM He wanted to shout his love from the top of a mountain! So he did...on Mount Soledad! I have known Dave since we were roommates in college at San Diego State. We had some good times in "the Cabin" as our house was known. After we parted ways a few years later he moved down to Pacific Beach. One day his friend and roommate Mike organized a BBQ. Good thinking Mike! After a few beers, Dave and I decided to sing some songs and try to serenade some sweet young ladies, one of which was Kristen. So I got to be there the day they met, and then I got to be there the day they got engaged! How lucky is that?
Dave organized a small team of friends to create a nice little scene on the top of Mt. Soledad. He drove around the parking lot for a little until we were totally ready for him. He killed time by blindfolding Kristen and telling her that they were going on a "group date". That way, when she saw me she didn't think anything of it. She didn't know what was happening until Dave took her to the very top and said "Do you know what I'm going to do now?". I'm so happy for these two love birds! Congratulations you guys! My husband and I met Dave when he and Sunny were seated together at the same table on a cruise about....er...I think it must be 7 years now? I felt a bit sorry for him, being the youngest at the table, and stuck with a bunch of "old" people (AHEM), but he was such an intelligent and interestng guy I soon realized he'd have no trouble fitting in anywhere in life or the world. We got to see his talent playing the piano and his goofy side on a themed dance night.
Dave, we wish you much joy and happiness as you start your life with Kristen - CONGRATULATIONS!
