TRACI & ERIK {HIGHLIGHT}

Helloooo Wedding Season! Yep, this week is as busy as it gets for us. 4 weddings in 7 days! Yesterday we spent the day with some old friends, the Bontrager family. We were lucky enough to complete the trifecta with them at Holman Ranch in Carmel Valley, CA. First Megan, then Justin, and now Kristin! It’s been a honor to document each of their weddings and we’re blessed to know them. Today we head up to Sonoma for some Same Day Premiere action with Yazel & Brian. Thursday it’s back down to Southern Cal for a wedding in Temecula and then out to Denver to finish off the week! Whew!

As we continue to finish the films in progress, here’s an old favorite of ours. When you think of Southern California and its miles of sandy beaches, a country style wedding might not come to mind. One of the things we love about living down here is how many environments there are. From beaches, cities, and gardens, to fields, mountains, and deserts – we have a lot to work with! With beautiful design from Sitting In A Tree Events and gorgeous photography by Studio Castillero, this wedding was a dream to shoot. KYLE & ALISA {¡PIÑATA!}

Good morning! The summer is in full effect here in San Diego. The farmer’s tan is coming along nicely and I’ve already lost my iPhone in a pool, soooo yep! Sounds about right! On the bright side I had the pleasure of cheering on my brother in the San Diego Rock N Roll Half Marathon. He was killing it! As my wonderful father would say, “Brett, I’m prouddaya!” And speaking of marathons – we have our own marathon coming up next week where we’re shooting 4 weddings in 7 days! Bring it! I think all this crossfit I’ve been doing is bleeding into my work. If you see me at a wedding doing turkish get-ups in the aisle please come over and let me know how silly I look. And please don’t be offended if I get the urge to pick you up and front squat for time. </end crossfit references>

Since we’re still editing some new films for you to enjoy, I would like to post a series of our old favorites from the past few years. Today we’re revisiting just a snippet from our dear friends Kyle and Alisa. Their wedding was pretty magical. They spent the day at the Fallbrook Treehouse starting with breakfast! It’s probably the only time I’ve eaten breakfast with the wedding party on the day of the wedding and I loved it! Fast forward to the reception and video at hand. To start the dance party they had the brilliant idea of breaking open a piñata filled with colorful glowsticks! Rave on! It was perfectly matched with the music (courtesy of Jared Conrad) and exploded right when the beat drops. Check it out on the video above! See you next week with another old favorite!

TERA & WESLEY {HIGHLIGHT}

2nd post! We’re on a roll! Did I mention how much we love our new site? Thanks so much to Caava Design for the amazing job! If you’re looking for a super talented team of dreamers, designers, and developers, go hire them. Here’s a video by one of our Associates – Kris! He shot this alongside some of our favorites – Studio Castillero rocked the stills and Sitting In A Tree Events designed an amazing space for a wedding. Always a pleasure and a privilege to work with them. And what can we say about Tera & Wesley? Cute! I’ve never met them in person, but I feel like they are my friends…is that weird? I love the neon sign they had at the reception. In college we had one at our house, but it was much more…trashy. Theirs is classy. Speaking of classy, I can’t wait for the new Anchorman movie. Ok, now I’m rambling…Until next time!

JONNY & LAUREN {SAME DAY PREMIERE}

Hello and welcome to the new site & blog! Caava Design did such an amazing job. Cheers to them! Thanks for stopping by and reading our first video blog post of 2013! It’s definitely been a long time coming, but we’re excited to get blogging again. We have tons of content to show you guys so keep checking back for new videos. We would also like to mention the addition of some new team members – our Associates! Kris, Josh, Jason, and Mary are going to be posting their work from time to time as well. We’re glad to welcome them into the wild and wonderful world of weddings. (wow that’s a lot of W’s.) Tom’s team put this video together and premiered it for Lauren and Jonny at their wedding reception last weekend at the Estancia Resort in La Jolla. What a blast! I don’t think we’ll ever forget “HA HA HAAaaa.” *wink wink* (Sorry readers, inside joke for the bridal party & family). We were able to license “All This Time” by OneRepublic for their video soundtrack. Thanks to his wonderful interns, Jamie and Seita, for a job well done.
