We drove up to Orange County to spend the day with Ryan and Kristena, our stars of the day! We were very excited about their Same Day Premiere because they chose a song by Ben Rector called "White Dress" which we licensed through themusicbed.com. It's a catchy tune that almost seems like it was written specifically for a wedding. As the ceremony drew closer we really felt the effects of daylight savings even though it was the last day before the switch. I'm going to miss those long summer days! By 6PM the sun was out of sight and darkness was quickly approaching. I was glad that the venue had lights set up so everyone could see even when the sun went down. It was such a romantic setting! On a technical note, we're loving our new Macbook Pro with Final Cut Pro X. We can edit now like never before! Enjoy what we put together for Ryan, Kristena, and their guests!

Today we present you a romantic little film featuring Louis and Emily. They got married in a gorgeous chapel in Long Beach and had their reception on the Queen Mary. As Emily and her father walked down the aisle they were accompanied by a string quartet playing a beautiful rendition of "Cinema Paradiso" - the same song they decided to use for the soundtrack of their film. It was fun cutting to a classical song and it really suits their wedding. Without further ado please check out their film!

Mike and Linda had us come up there to document their elopement and we fell in love with the place. Besides the gorgeous views it was amazing hanging out with Mike and Linda all day and capturing their story on camera. We keep getting lucky enough to work with excellent artists and these two are no exception. Linda designed and created the lamps that accompanied them during their ceremony, while Mike is a true "shoe junkie" at Zappos.com (he may or may not have more shoes in his closet than Linda!). It's not often that we have the couple all to ourselves - usually there's a tight schedule with wedding planners, photographers, and DJs all working together with us. So to be honest, it was a little intimidating having to be "in charge" the whole time and create this video for them. Since there were no guests, no people giving toasts, we thought it would be a good idea to have Mike and Linda do a short interview so we could hear their story. It tied in nicely with their hand written vows they read to each other during the ceremony. We're really pleased with how their film turned out and look forward to more elopements like this one! I've known Kyle for a few years now as he's been part of my guy's small group (we all met at church and basically get together once a week and do some studies/updates on our lives/encourage each other). It's been a really fun and amazing time to see Kyle and Alisa's story playing out in front of us. We met up a few months ago to get their story on camera. It ended being a really fun and hilarious day, and many thanks to Andrew Ruiz for helping me shoot it!

The wedding location was so perfect for a wedding! We met up with the bridal party early that morning for breakfast, which was prepared by Alisa's sister. Slowly but surely we started shooting, but it was a very relaxing and casual shoot for us. Everyone kept asking me "Are you going to make a Same Day Premiere?" and I kept telling them "NO!" even though I had been secretly planning on making one. I love surprises so I kept it a secret all the way up until the end. Alisa and Kyle told me they wanted me to be a guest and enjoy the wedding, meaning: don't hide out in a room and edit the whole time. What they don't realize is that's how I enjoy the wedding the most! The moment everyone realizes they are watching scenes from earlier that day is so much fun for me! The sounds of surprise, looks on their faces, and tears make it all worth it. Many thanks to Matt Forrey and Kris Hanson for helping make this happen! Two weddings with plenty of friendly faces. On Saturday we drove out to El Cajon/Jamul to film Jake and Samantha's big day. Erica and her husband Deven from Acres of Hope Photography shot the stills, and we were so happy to be working alongside them! The wedding was at Erica's parents' house, a.k.a. Skyline Ranch. Such a beautiful place for a wedding! Samantha and Jake were the very first booking we had for 2012 and it was so great to see them joined in marriage. I was also stoked to hear they wanted to use a licensed music track from themusicbed.com, so I went with "When She Comes Around" by Ben Rector. It was a joy to hear people yelling "encore!" after we showed this at their reception. It's not the big projection screen, but hopefully this web version is good for an encore. Enjoy!

First, we're frantically working to get finished with all the weddings from 2011 before the 2012 season gets REALLY busy. Second, we have a new policy now for blog posts. We are making a transition into using music that we either have licensed or permission to use. We get requests from couples quite frequently to use music that we don't legally have the rights to use. While we respect the couple's wishes to use quality music for their wedding film, we also respect the right of the recording artist who works hard to make a living. It's a tricky situation, but the law is clear. So from now on we won't be blogging videos with unlicensed music tracks. Don't fret though! Some great artists such as Ben Rector, Lovelight, Drew Barefoot, Amy Seeley, and many others have all made their music available for licensing. The films we create with licensed music will have the same amount of emotion, style, and relevance that we have been producing for the past 4 years. We'll be posting some new stuff soon!
